Proper Disposal of Employee Documents
My boss was recently cleaning out offices of our old office manager as well as his personal secretary's office. I qent to empty one of our warehouse trashcans and it was full of unshielded documents just sitting there. I dug through it and found my original W4 paperwork with my social security number, my direct deposit paperwork with my bank account and routing number, along with that same info for every employee we've had work for us. There was also a huge amount of other documents, DMV forms, etc. Obviously this isn't alright, I don't want mine or my coworkers info or identities stolen. We have a lot of homeless digging through our dumpsters during off hours. Ended up getting yelled at for digging through the garbage trying to take out sensitive documents so I can shred or burn them. I shouldn't even have access to these things…
Dear hard workers: If you sit, leave
Dude, my boss is gonna be so pissed. I got food poisoning in Saturday from a Subway in a Walmart. My bf and I had the exact same thing except I had turkey. He didn't get sick but I did. On Sunday I was fighting for my life. Dehydrated and weak I was still made to come into work on Monday because one of my managers had a dick appointment, and even showed up in her new dress while I'm running from the register back and forth to the bathroom. That was the second slap in the face after seeing they weren't even understaffed for how slow it was. I didn't need to show up at all, and since it's tip pooling the other two bartenders would've made more money. Yesterday when I finally got my appetite back my bf and I grab some Thai food from one of our…
I can't do this anymore. I work 8-5 as an apprentice mechanic. I earn minimum wage, and my job consists mostly of mopping the floors, doing oil changes and vacuuming cars, despite the fact that I'm fully capable of rebuilding engines. I have 3 years of study to go before I qualify, which allows me to continue to be underpaid for 40 hours of hard physical labour every week. I don't want this to be my career anymore, I feel undervalued and used. My manager is a man-child who has a hissy fit whenever something goes the slightest bit wrong, he berates me for being 5 minutes late in the morning, he consistently treats me like it's my first day on the job and I've never seen a car before, and he blames me for anything he can. This job is an improvement over the workshop I quit a month…
Nobody wants to work rant
This is bullshit. There are multiple instances of how this “nobody wants to work” is killing the job industry. So far, I've been applying almost 200+ places and yet I only got one email back from them. There's also other place that has been denying my application but I know for fact that I am overqualified for this job, but this place keeps denying my application. Yet they'll reject it but would have the position open for 8 weeks so far. This is why people are looking so hard for another job because their workplace is toxic and unsufferable, but yet they struggle to find one. They'll put the position open for weeks but actively deny the applications, no matter how it fits the requirements for the applications. How can you just do this to people who are qualified to do the job and they're simply trying to move for…

IL is a third state to become state to have mandatory PTO, and of course, who will think about poor employers? /s
