I just started a new job and have felt the joy drain away from me as I realise the boss is a psychopath. I have to give 60 days notice to terminate which I’m fine with as it gives me a reasonable amount of time to find another role. However there is also a clause in my contract that says they can terminate my contract with 1 weeks notice during the probation period. What I don’t want to happen is for me to give 60 days notice and then have them turn around and give me just one weeks notice. Is this a potential outcome?

That freaks me out a lot.

So I submit a cv with oodles of experience related to the role, and yet get an automated rejection email. Saying I do not have sufficient experience or qualifications. Lol there is 13 years of experience on it, and I have two degrees . That could not have been reviewed by a human .

First, I hear that they're unsure if there will be merit increases this year in January. Our annual reviews with increases happens in March. (Been with the company for 5 years at this point.) There was an email sent out that annual reviews will be held in April… Just today my workplace sends out an employee survey to please complete before 4/4. I won't be filling out any fucking survey until I know if I'm getting an increase or not. The timing of this is just feels downright manipulative…

I’m a receptionist/typist & I start work at 9:30am, I’ve been at this job for a couple months now and have never been late, not even a minute, i’m usually dead on time. So, today I clock out (again, exactly on time) & my boss says “we need to talk about your time, you’re meant to be on the computer typing at 9:30, not getting in at 9:30, if you’re leaving at 4 then that all adds up.” She got a phone call and we ended it there and I went home, but what do y’all think? I mean this in the sense that it’s insane to me how much fucking work people put into minimum wage jobs. I have nothing but the utmost respect for minimum wage workers and the shit they have to go through. Shitty bosses, shitty coworkers and worst of all, customers. These big wigs get to sit at the top of their thrones while their little minions do all the actual hard labor and get royally fucked because of it. The whole American economy is fucked as a whole. Why am I busting my ass off at a retail job lifting heavy ass boxes just because I’m “big and strong” while my boss gets to comfortably sit in his office probably jerking off.
