ok, so im nervous for my upcoming job evaluation a couple of weeks from now. i told my parents that basically finding something that i will genuinely enjoy will be hard as fuck because i get bored very fast if i don't genuinely find any passion in the job or am just uninterested.. my mom then told me that i have to learn to stick with things too and not get bored.. i was like eh, your right, and my dad goes, not eh, your gonna have to stick with it… im now wondering if i will have to work at a dead end job that i will hate or if i can work at something im passionate about… btw to put this into perspective i have ADHD, (and maybe autism?) and if im not intrested in something right away i get bored within a couple of weeks and…
Auto-rejection but an honest reason
Applied for a role in a different country. Was rejected immediately due to me not having any sort of permit/visa to work in that country. Although rejected by the algorithm it still had a valid reason better than no reason from a human recruiter.
So I'm an electronics technician. For my job I'm required to drive to various sites across the east coast this can range from 45 minutes to 8+hrs of driving to get to the next job location. The problem is that my time is split up into two different 'pay groups' both of which are the same hourly rate. However my time spent driving (a company truck) for some reason does not count towards overtime which really seems immoral if not illegal. It's pretty common for me to have 50+ hour weeks including my travel time but I almost never have any overtime unless I happen to get that much 'on site' time. I make $28/hr so I'm definitely not salaried or anything like that. So how is this company (a quite large company) getting away with this? I've talked to other techs but they all seem almost scared to discuss…
