At my wife’s place of employment
And then cut from the schedule
I’m 26 working in an office filled with people that are 30+. There are about a handful of us that are under 30. I work in a barebones marketing team. Not to blow my head up, but it’s widely known that I do 90% of the marketing workload. Including all of my bosses stuff. ANY TIME I need something done such as setting up promos in our software system, an update in pricing, etc. it always has to go through people who are over 35 (because almost no young people work here) and they ALWAYS give me push back. Today for example, I asked for something, I got a reply saying “we don’t know what you’re talking about”. My boss asked for the literal exact same thing and somehow it’s “cleared up”. This is NOT the first time this has happened where my coworker has acted fucking clueless. My boss…
This is why no one can get a job!
The job market is downright drowned in people looking. If you think this list is bad, look at February and January and December. Thousands and thousands of people added to the hunt with less and less jobs to be found each time, leading to over a thousand applications for every job offer that even comes close to paying the bills. This is unsustainable. If we don't figure out a universal basic income fast, we're all screwed. https://www.linkedin.com/news/story/latest-layoffs-accenture-and-more-6188026/
Basically I am staying on until the end of the month and they hired someone to be my replacement. The reason for “letting me go” is because they need someone who can act as COO and do my tasks plus more operational stuff and I am currently only part time right now. When I asked why they couldn't increase my hours so I can do more work and learn the experienced operational side of things (I have the capacity) they just say they don't think I am “there yet” in terms of experience or skills I assume and they think it's better to just pay one person who can do it all instead of paying multiple people. So instead of promoting me they want this other person. They also want to pay me for half of April. So now they want me to set up a time to train this…
I really hate jobs they don’t have a salary listed but then expect me to list my requirements. I don’t want to short change myself nor do I want to be excluded merely because I outpriced myself. It’s a waste of time too for me to apply if the pay ends up being garbage. Just put the fucking pay in the job post!!! Sick of this shit. They’re all predators.
