I came back into the serving station just in time to witness our manager, an almost 6ft tall woman, grab one of the servers, a minor girl who is pregnant, and literally put her into a choke hold under her arm and yell “WHERE IS IT?” while the girl screamed, squirmed, and said “where is what?” until my manager released her, jabbed a finger in the middle of her chest, and repeated “where is it?” “what?” “your badge” I walked away before I was noticed because it was just really awkward and weird. I'm leaving this job anyway but I just wanted to share. A lot more weird shit has gone on but that struck me as particularly inappropriate. Idk if it matters but they're both Jamaican, so maybe I am missing a cultural thing as a white person.

Title explains it all. No idea what to do now. Any advice would be helpful.

Hi, So at my job I am a maintenance manager. I handle everything from a clogged toilet to life safety measures. My boss, crystal, just recently brought in a “life safety” expert. She spent 9 freaking hours meeting with him and did not invite me to anything. I was denied an opportunity to learn more about one of my main responsibilities. How should I process this? She knows I won't care if that's no longer a part of my responsibilities but without clarity I feel like total shit. She hasn't responded to emails or texts. How does someone spend 9 hours with a contractor and should I be worried about my job?

I have created a joint account with my boyfriend so he can cash his checks. He has a bunch of checks to cash out because he did not have access to a bank for a while. He tried to cash out 5 checks at once and 3 of them bounced. Now my account is frozen. I call the bank for them to tell me they need to make sure the checks weren't fake. The boss needs to call the bank to confirm the checks were not fake. It has been 3 WEEKS. He said he'd call them and hasn't. No word from him at all. And there is seemingly nothing I can do. So I am left with a frozen account and no money. He doesn't answer ANY of his calls or texts. So basically my bf is working for free right now because he can't even use his money.…

So I live in WA, worked for a small food business (less than 30 employees in total) for a few years, and I've known about my back deformity for about a decade, but lately it's gotten so painful I have to stop working and seek disability. I've missed 3 scheduled days in hopes that I'd feel better, but after having a x-ray a few weeks ago it looks like I'm going to be managing severe pain every day for the rest of my life, and again, in extreme pain already so I can't reasonably go in anymore. It's a typical no benefits food job, but I'm wondering, is there any way I could swing this so I can recieve financial support as I wait for my disability application to go through? I've read conflicting things about unemployment or medical leave. Would I qualify for either of those things?
