It's my first week and so far: -it's easily the most physically demanding and honestly painful job I've ever worked. And I've worked in all kinds of jobs, food delivery, farm work, landscaping, bussing, even set-up. So I'm not exactly Simone Biles or Xena, but I'm not a stranger to hard work. -although the handbook says employees should take breaks, they schedule you so that you are almost always driving or working. Whoopsie! My co workers say this is normal and just don't eat usually. my interviewer told me I'd be working in cities no more then 40 minutes away but they have scheduled me to work over an hour away every day I've worked. My day is up to 3/4 hours of driving a day. ;_; (Even more then when I did food delivery) -the pay advertised is only for working hours, driving hours doesn't count! They can only…

Getting hours cut. What can I do?
Long story short ended up not getting paid correctly and told my manager to do a better job. My manager then cut some of my hours to quiet fire me I guess. Now I'm only getting 24 hours a week. Is there anything I can do? Should I just go over my manager and speak to the GM?
Recently got hired at a job starting at the end of the month. I got excited to finally be working again. For context I'm American and I left my last job last November because I was pregnant and very sick. The pregnancy made me so sick it almost cost my life and my baby's. I wouldn't have been able to afford having my baby with the insurance from that job either so it was actually cheaper for me to quit and have the baby on Medicaid since I wasn't going to qualify for FMLA anyway. I'm a mother to a newborn that's still in the hospital. Babies are expensive of course so I was itching to start working again so I could help my family especially because my husband is disabled. I reapplied to the job from last November, and despite the circumstances outside of my control behind why I…
I once worked a job that was hybrid: 3 days remotely, 2 in the office. A nice balance, though I prefer to be fully remote. There's an internal announcement email in our inboxes one morning; the company hired a new CMO and they're being flown out to our office to meet the team, and we're all required to be on-site for the entire week to “give them a warm welcome.” Nobody is happy to hear this, obviously. Monday morning rolls around and we all meet the new CMO. Nice lady, very friendly, but it was painfully obvious that even she didn't want to be there either. Our managers announced she would be meeting each and every one of us to learn more about the company and how things worked. “Normally I've only ever worked remotely, but it's nice to meet you all!” she greets the team in our morning stand…

I requested 6 months of unpaid personal leave from my job so I can complete a graduate school program. Submitted my request Monday and I asked my boss today if he had approved it. He told me “it’s not operationally feasible” to let me take leave because I’m “too valuable.” So I gave him my 2 weeks notice. He was NOT ready for it and it was fucking delightful. He also doesn’t know I already have another job offer for a place that is willing to work around my school schedule. After I left today he texted me asking if I wanted to discuss this via phone. I left him on read. He’s acting like he got dumped and is begging to be taken back. I can’t wait to leave that toxic waste dump!
