I had an employee move departments as this was intended once they received the basic training and knowledge they needed from my department. They reached out to me recently regarding direction for a personal situation and asked about their title. I said ya know that s something that probably needs to be updated for a number of reasons. Mind you they were not asking for a raise or anything. They just didn’t genuinely know what to put down since their position had evolved from the original title given. After asking a C level manager I received a “no that just snowballs into other people finding out and wanting title changes. Then it becomes a title change plus additional compensation.” I whole heartedly believe they do deserve a pay increase but that was not even part of my question to begin with. I noticed it when seeing that the ones who are problematic either Got their initial position within a company thanks to nepotism, so since they entered the workforce higher than those who work for them, they don’t see them as valuable. They struggled under toxic leadership to the extent that they think what they do is to be expected of their position. Are from an older generation that has developed negative views of young people so automatically attribute laziness to any struggles they face as opposed to anything they can help or fix.

So it's at the ending stages of covid, I'm working as an industrial electrician and recently just started this job at a new plant because the previous plant I was working for ended up shutting down because of supply chain issues caused by Covid. My previous employer was a major automotive assembly plant, and my new job was a very small factory. I went from just being a dependable middle of the pack electrician with a maintenance dept in the 100s. To small maintenance dept with 5 employees. I quickly became the go-to guy at my new plant. i’ve applied to so many places recently to hopefully get away from my toxic low paying job. every interview i’ve went to, i was given the impression the hiring managers really liked me. however, they always say they’ll “be in touch” they seem enthusiastic, but never follow through. which leads me to be confused. i literally had a job interview a week ago, the manager said i hit the marks with every question he asked. which made me think “hopefully i’ve finally got an opportunity!!” when the interview finished, he stated he would be in touch within 24 hours through email or my phone number (he’s contacted me prior) and seemed energetic about it. i went home pretty confident since i nailed the questions. but now it is a week later and i’ve heard nothing. this has happened to me a lot recently. why post that your urgently hiring if…

I'd been working fully remote for two years during the pandemic. One day late last year my boss says I have to call HR and talk to them about coming in to the office a few days a week. They wanted everyone to come in at least a couple of days a week and they decided to make an issue of it. I tried it out for a couple of weeks but really missed my couch and all of my streaming services, plus hanging out in my pajamas all day.
