So I went to my shrink and told her how my depression with ASD affected my work. So much I ended up in hospital for ideation. So I filed for SSI/SSDI and hope for the best. She's on board with that and we agreed that the concept of work as we know it today is broken. I'm looking forward to this as to be frank, work makes me sick. I am moving on from my current job. I got a job offer and am planning on putting in my notice at the end of the week. When I come in on my Monday my boss at the end of my shift, asks me to do some “busy work” for him that he doesn’t have time for. Come to find out it is coming up with, and typing out action plans in response to our employee satisfaction survey. I already do 95% of the admin bc I am “better at computers”. What should I do? He is the department head, I am the lowest ranking manger.

I live in the USA where Individual Income Tax is the largest source of the Federal Government's revenue. Add in Social Security and Medicare taxes and it makes up for a whopping 86% of revenue for the United States government. Only workers pay these Income, SS and Medicare taxes. If you are making money without working, from investments etc, it is subject to other taxes, but not Income or Social Security or Medicare taxes. Taxing INCOME as opposed to taxing WEALTH is a huge inequity. We shouldn't tax income at all. There's so much wealth in the United States (like 30%+ of the whole world's total wealth!!) that we could simplify the tax code pretty radically and easily pay for whatever the fuck we want to. I’m just so worried about finding a new job in the future and going through what I did in my current role where I replaced someone who had been here almost 30 years so naturally nothing was documented and I had to reverse engineer everything for the first few months in the job. Are there still places that actually offer on the job training and not just plop you at your desk and expect you to know everything from there by day 1?

I have a co-worker on my team who has made travel her entire personality. When I started everyone introduced her and said “she’s our traveler”. She has been with the company a long time so she has a lot of PTO and takes usually 3-4 two week long vacations every year Everyone acts like she’s the only person to ever travel and like seeing pictures of her trips is worth us having to cover her desk for two weeks at a time. Also everyone gives her priority on her time off except this year I beat her to request one of her preferred weeks and she bitched to everyone. I work a large discount retailer, think red sign and they're known for selling coats. I work in the back doing stock and processing the trucks. Today is Thursday and I am still processing clothing for my department from Tuesday. Urgh… And because it's not getting done fast enough, they leave work for the next day and it doubles the next days truck. I can't get any hours. Because we're not making goal for production. I worked for 7 years at the competition as a fes and mod plus. They had sales floor people helping us keep production goals and the management helped too. I'm so sick of this way of doing things. It's maddening. Today I sprained my knee before coming in ( I have muscular dystrophy so…) Maybe it's time to reevaluate this position and find something better.
