Located here in Minnesota. That might be true, but you can almost guarantee their raises are shit or non existent (“we pay more than the union so you’re already ahead!” or something along those lines) and the benefits probably suck too.

Apparently, I look like a racist idiot
While interviewing for a job recently, I asked about car break-ins and thefts, considering the sketchy nature of the neighborhood. That prompted the business owner to go off on this crazy rant, beginning with “I don't know your politics, but I'd guess we have similar views….” and he proceeded to go off about how slavery wasn't the big thing history makes it out to be and that it was never a racial thing, there have been plenty of white slaves through history and there were blacks who owned slaves in the south and it's just the the left pushing the the anti slavery rhetoric in an effort to get a big handout in the form of reparations. A little stunned, I just said that I prefer to keep politics and work separate and did what I could to end the interview. The next day, I called and declined the job.…
Feels illegal or something, but it probably isn’t. They said it was because we don’t look professional, having our phones out while wearing the uniform. Problem is, I work in a water park and the break room is tiny and kinda gross, and if we want food we kinda have to spend like 10 minutes in line at one of the food booths. Sucks not being able to use your phone during that time, solely because a guest got a little upset about it. Also it’s our time? We aren’t working at that time, why does it matter? Idk just seems weird. Love the job, hate when I get reminded it’s a job with out of touch managers.
I swear, every single time I'm supposed to have a day off, they're trying to add me to the schedule to work that day. I've barely had a day off since I started. It's SO annoying.
Because me personally, I could give a rat's ass about who the hell is my manager at this point bro can go kick rocks barefucking footed. If I had the legal chance to shove my fist in my new manager's face at my job, id do it with absolutely no fucking problem. The new year just started and usually when you dont get any write ups u get the best raises the following year. This new guy rolls up and 2 days after he was hired he wrote me and 3 other team members up for the most braindead of fucking shit there is known to man. One guy came back from his break 2 minutes late, write up One guy was in the bathroom too long taking a shit and he felt they were doing that to get out of work, write up One was answering a phone call…
Great representation !
I’m genuinely curious. My company recent laid off a shit ton of people from departments we consider critical. We’re already understaffed as is and it didn’t make sense that some people in these areas were booted. I also would’ve thought that the newer hires were easier targets but another new colleague and myself made it through this. Nothing is making sense and I’m wondering if anyone has insight. Thanks.
I don't have any passion for any specific kind of job. Jobs are only a means to an end for me to support myself and get things I want. So I'm trying to think of a decent work from home job I could get and go to college for that doesn't really involve customer service (preferably). So any recommendations for something like that would be appreciated especially if it would help me move out of the US or if I would be able to travel and still work and stuff,
I am seriously sick and tired of this. The cost of living is ever increasing and employers refuse to at least be a bit generous and provide you with at least 12 dollars an hour. Not only is my employer adding more work, but they are also not staffing which requires me to do the work of 5 to 6 people. Recent changes are just going to make it harder to even work and log in for work after doing all these unnecessary steps just to work. Is it too much to ask for a living wage? The federal reserve hiking the interest rates are kicking people like me out of the market from not only getting a mortgage and a home , but also a new car as mine was just stolen. How will I pay off my debt in credit card bills when my variable interest rate are…
