Basically, we were hired to do telemarketing campaigns for MSPs and Vendors we contracted with depending in a given region they were looking for clients in. Had this small MSP that hadn't had a new client added in months, which was due to previous callers being terrible. I used to work in the IT field when I was in the military but have since moved into sales and I no longer did field work, but having worked in the field I knew the lingo and what was needed when a potential client was curious about services or needed some other information. This is in Canada, ON. I’ve been working in different warehouses for years that always start at $17-18 and after 5 years or so of seniority goes to like $23-24. A few months ago I found this new job that starts at $25 and within 3 years you get top rate at $35/hour not including shift premiums that range from $2-4 extra an hour. After starting I found out the last people they hired started 4-5 years ago and majority of the employees have been working there for 10-30 years! Who would have thought paying people a half decent wage would help you keep employees.

Recently while at work we were forced to attend a meeting that quite frankly served 0 purpose and was just a hate campaign against myself and a few others at work and one of the topics discussed was taking time off and the manager had the audacity to tell us that we can’t take days off unless it was medical or an emergency and I immediately called her out and told her she took a 1 week vacation to vegas to go play slots clearly a medical emergency and she goes on blabbing about how she has kids and stuff acting like we don’t have kids or have family members we want to spend time with needless to say she clocked us all out and did not pay us for a mandatory meeting so I’m taking it up with the labor board you aint gonna waste my time with your…

I’m a supervisor myself and I think I’m really good at the job just based off how I treat people under me. I will work with them and after completing the work I actually take an interest in getting to know them if they are up to it. How do you all feel about your supervisors?if not good, what ultimately do you look for in a good supervisor?
