Boss micromanages. Coworker overreport to piss boss off. Should I follow my coworker’s step?

Three people left before I joined due to my boss. She loves to micromanage. We hired my new coworker way after me. My coworker is older and has more work experience in our field than I do, but I have more experience in this specific job. My boss hates me because I give her evil stares for micromanaging me. My coworker noticed she’s being micromanaged and loves to OVERREPORT. She would go on and talk about every little interaction she had with anyone to make my boss know that she’s working. She mentions every little thing she does – explaining all the silly steps that we all know. I love my coworker. Anyway, my boss has been so pissed lately and telling my coworker she has been wasting too much time explaining. My boss even told me that coworker is wasting time. Should I imitate my boss?

my boss keeps threatening my pay

Hi everyone, I'm just coming here for information as to this unique circumstance I have. First things first, I'm Australian and I love my job and my workplace is usually a non-toxic environment. Secondly, we use a facial recognition clock in and clock out system. Thirdly, after a long hard working day, the clock out machine doesn't recognise me some times due to id assume intense labour and exhaustion changing my face. So some days after trying to clock out for 10 to 20 mins I just leave. Recently my boss said “hey you've been forgetting to clock out lately” I explained what I said above and his response was, “Doesn't matter you have to clock otherwise you won't get paid” . Is this wage theft.

So my work has paid holidays since the day I started almost 1 year ago. They added a new holiday months ago then printed it out on the holiday sheet and laminated it proceeded to tell us in a meeting that this new day is paid (feb 20, 2023). A week before that day they removed the time. Went from 8 hours to 0 on the electronic time clock (have photos of it too). Because they aren’t giving us hours for that day it fucks up the whole weeks overtime. Went to HR and they said we don’t know. We’ll let you know eventually. You may not even get paid. So is that considered wage theft or wrong in any manner that would allow me to stand up for myself other than getting the same ole we’ll make sure you get your pay eventually. Excessive work dumped | Overworked & frustrated

Hi, I am working in a market research field. My team is comparatively smaller and most of them have been in this field for quite some time. They either have learnt how to take up less work or just are able to showcase that the current work is enough for them. My manager recently joined and he is new to this type of work, even not knowing how to set up or refresh a pivot table. The team members showcase that they have huge amount of work and as I am new to the field and come from a previous worke which was very much fast paced, I tend to do things proactively. Over the months as rest of the team members either find an excuse or just take up a leave during most important meetings, my manager has started to dump more and more work on me just so…

Wrote a bad review on my job site. Now they won’t rehire me.

I used to work on a theater. It was my first job. The boss was an old boomer dude, who would constantly curse out my coworkers, who were all teens by the way. He would overwork us and treat us nice whenever he was in the mood. He would throw constant tantrums over small simple mistakes and treated everyone (including managers) like shit. We were short staffed, thanks to the pandemic. There was only four managers and about thirty employees. The majority still went to school. They were teens. He overworked them to hell. A team lead, who was only 17 was overworked 10 hours. He had school the next day and also was told to work later in the afternoon. He did that to many other coworkers. Just got fired after my boss said I wouldn’t

Honestly I’m still kinda reeling from this. I had to take a couple days off because my house almost burned down because my brother left the oven on, and when I called my boss, who I’ve always gotten along with, I asked if that was alright. And he was like “Yeah, sure, take all the time you need.” So I go in tonight, work for like two hours, and then he calls me up to the office and told me I was fired. Company pays the bare minimum and expects five-star quality labor.

So I work a part-time job at discounted home decor store. In our morning meeting today, manager was fed up; they emphasized how we need to step up our work and be a team player. How we need to help the store run smoothly and meet the goals that corporate puts out. However, everyone there is being paid like 12-14 an hour. Sorry not sorry but when you pay the bare minimum you get bare minimum labor. I could care less about hitting corporates goals or promoting credit cards when I have other shit to worry about. Like my schooling or my mother whose some health issues etc. Seriously, fuck this whole “team player” corporate mentality where they expect you to work 50+ hours for literal peanuts so management can just hide in the office all day.
