Today I was verbally abused by a customer, he was very irate and yelling profanities just for me asking the basic 3 pieces of information to access his account. I told my supervisor that I wanted to release the call or he could take it if he wanted. In 2003, 1 million of the British public went out on protest against Afghanistan and the potential we would go to war in Iraq. That clearly wasn't enough because we went to war in Iraq didn't we. So I am 22 years old and work in a market. The pay is somewhat okay but I am so fucking tired… I am tired of the load of physical work I have to do, the work environment, coworkers and work conditions. I come home I have no energy for anything despite being young. I do admit I am a little bit lazy but also I can't stand having all my energy being sucked out of me most of the days. Context: I work in middle management for a small/medium sized company and lately I've recently had a performance review with my boss. I was told that in order to continue advancing, I'd need to do more personal development. I always like to learn new things, so I have no issues with that, but I was also told that this also needed to be during my personal time and not on company hours. I was also expected to purchase my own books, online courses and since this would “benefit me” as a whole, these expenses wouldn't be covered by the company. I do like to keep up with latest news/trends related to my role, but to be told straight up that I'd need to do it on my own personal time really kind of irked me. I work for a small company, we deal with insurance claims and billing department for other doctors. I've been here for a month and it's honestly super frustrating because I run out of things to do, so I start doing claims issues which is part of my job, ans when I have questions my supervisors are ALWAYS busy. Ans then they never answer my question. Usually this question halts my work, as in I can't do anything until this question gets answered. So I either try doing it on my own or I ask other employees for help. I've been told “don't ask anyone else but me” from my supervisor.
