With the news about the French President's decicion to unilaterally raise the retirement age, I see quite a many comments about how “it is the only feasible option” due to lower birth rates, longer living rates, and the money could run out. Hard disagree. We have the money. We have the resources. Every major modern industrialized nation does. It is a distribution issue. I understand “just raise taxes on the ultrawealthy!!!” is a simplification. But it is the right attitude. What is the point of growing and improving society if not to let people enjoy their lives. We have more wealth resources and the ability to produce and disperse those resources than ever before. Instead governments around the world are discussing ways to force people to work at these jobs even longer. That isn't to say anything about how the poorest among us don't live long enough to see retirement…

What is the general consensus on being a landlord on the antiwork sub? Is this an accepted way to sustain a living or not?
