Highlights – he’s owned the place for 5 years but blamed the absolutely filthy store on the previous business that vacated in 2018, had me call a crew member at 4:15 to say that his 5:00 shift was cut and he shouldn’t come in, and now has failed to pay me for the 2 weeks I worked before quitting. Already preparing my email to send the DoL in 24 hours when he ignores my written demand. And he wonders why the crew are constantly calling in sick and quitting without notice

So I work for a Major soda retailer, When we are required to attend meetings or gatherings , Our GM will bless the food , The problem I have is that it's based on his faith only and you are told if you don't agree with his faith to bow your head in respect, My question what could I do about this? Is it safe to approach HR? Speak to the GM directly? Any help is appreciated

I hope this is the right sub for this. We're the dominant life form on the only planet known in the entire universe to host sentient life. We've figured out how to grow/produce more food than the entire population could ever use. We no longer have to worry about any predators. I want to bring an individual or class action lawsuit against my graduate school program's unpaid and uncompensated “practicum” requirement. (This is at a public “Big Ten” Midwestern University in the U.S. And, no, I am NOT in a medical program.) I have almost 10 years’ experience in my field, 2 current paid job positions in my field… and yet have to do an unpaid, 4-month internship to complete the graduate program. Even worse, the department director explicitly refuses to let current professionals use their current employment to complete the practicum requirement—and there are many other non-traditional students with relevant professional experience in this grad program, too. I'm certain there's no way the graduate school can claim that this practicum is useful for someone like me. It would cause financial harm by not paying me; it would harm my professional prospects, especially if I need to give up a paid…

We have 50 individual states, each with their own unique culture, and we don't see the struggles of Texas as the struggles of California. Even in the way we speak “thank god I don't live in that state” implies a separation. I honestly don't know how to fix this in order to have a massive united strike

I recall recently reading a story — both here, I believe, and in the media — of someone who sued their employer and won, and the individual used words to the effect of that we got to “fight for out right to be unpopular at work” and it was the basis of his suit. I can't find this story anywhere now … Is this ringing any bells?
