The point system sucks.
It’s such a lazy way to do things and punishes people for things out of their control. For instance, I’ve gotten 2.5 points this month due to getting sick twice, even with a doctors note. To make matters worse, the only place I could have gotten sick is at work because it’s the only place I’ve been this month. Why should I be punished for trying NOT to spread the stomach flu and regular flu around to everyone at work? And I don’t even know if I’m getting paid for this since everywhere has stopped caring about covid, so I may be homeless in two weeks. Y’all, please pray to whatever you believe in that I get paid for these two days I’m out, because I’m screwed if I don’t.
I worked for a trucking company, and per the title i quit today because i got punished for calling in sick two times the past month and a half, and punished for attending my friends fathers funneral. The company in question has a point system which you collect points for either calling in, being any sort of late, or life happens and you help a friend bury his fucking father #badcaseofthemondays. Mind you, i also operated heavy machinery in which, if used improperly, i can kill a motherfucker or get myself hurt too. So here i am. Its 215 in the fucking morning. I was late 10 minnutes because the road conditions were frozen which to be fair i could of adjusted too. I end up walking into work to get “coached” over calling in, and when i bring up the fact that i went to a funneral and wasnt…
why so out of whack
old news but seeing a job listing asking for a mental health degree or some manager position and then the pay is the same as all the fast food places around here is just a real head scratcher
So I was told I’m the “only one” that hasn’t completed a specific task. The task was never officially assigned, not a due date given. What’s even better is I talked to my peers and 95% said they haven’t completed or started this task (that I’m the ONLY one that hasn’t completed as my manager said…) Anyhow, they sent me a written email (the first official email in 1 year of direct communication I’ve ever gotten from this manager. I’m not exaggerating) outlining what is clearly a pre-PIP checklist including deadlines. This task suddenly became critical that I complete it before the end of the quarter (our Q4 aka layoff time) However, nobody else was given a deadline for the same tasks. My numbers show I perform well, and above many on my team. So it’s just an “I don’t like you and want to replace you” situation. There’s no…
Work for 3 shifts they said.
I work in Romania and I work as a Material Handler at a factory. My job is easy on paper. I take a walk around the assembly line and order the materials needed from the warehouse. Recently I was tasked with the packing area. Here is the thing, the factory works in 3 shifts while I’m working from 9-17pm because I come from outside the city from a village and this was the only timeframe that worked, anyway my supervisor came and told me that from now on I’m the only one who is working on that area and I shell keep the shelves full with packing boxes, inserts and supplies so that the 2nd and 3rd shifts will not have to deal with the area and so it would last ‘till I return. Basically work for 3 shifts (24h). That area is used for a total of 12 clients…
