I had the most ridiculous interaction with my boss this afternoon. I’m trying to get a defense job and there are some steps involved, so I have to meet with them in the morning. I feel like I can be honest about the fact that I’m actively pursuing what’s a dream job for me, so I told her what it was for. I told her I needed the day off a while ago, she pushed the issue, I agreed to come in late instead. Work is near the meeting anyway, might as well make a little money since I’m burning my gas. I reminded her this afternoon I’d be late tomorrow since she may have to cover my class. She asked for a note. I actually laughed at her.
