I have 12+ years of transferable skills, an MA in my new field, and completed numerous courses and certifications in my new field. No hits with my feminine name or the feminine nickname version of it. My quite feminine name can be changed to a quite masculine name by dropping the last two letters. boss is trying to get us to come in to office more hours, basically threatening to fire us if we dont work more hours, and even have mandatory (unpaid) meetings, is this legal and who/how do i contact if not?

So I’m an assistant manager for a “record store” that also sells anime memorabilia. On January 1, Illinois minimum wage went up from $12 to $13. I, as a salaried full time manager, technically only make $15.38 per hour and the key holders now make $14 an hour. When I asked my DM if mine and the store manager’s wages were going to be adjusted, we were told no. I only make half time as “overtime” pay, not time and a half. The store manager doesn’t even get OT period. Hi everyone, please help me here. I worked for an employer as a software consultant from Dec 2017 to March 2020. Unfortunately I had to leave the company because I was on bench for 8 months prior to March 2020 and I wasn’t doing financially well. Am I being gaslit? My company announced that I’m being let go in the end of this month cause my role isn’t needed at this time anymore. But they expected me to learn new skills that I was not hired to do. They hired a project manager not a coder, but expected the project manager to learn how to code with the time they have left at the company!?
