I desperately need to make money. I'm from a 3rd world country (I won't disclose the name) where the minimum wage is around $290 a month or $3480 annually. 90% of the time you have to work 12 hours a day and 6 days a week too. It's horrible. On top of all this, I don't even have a job right now. My only income is my scholarship which is $68 a month. A virtual job at Amazon US that pays $15 an hour would quite literally save my life or any virtual/remote job where I can make a $1000 a month. Any lead is appreciated.
Is this even legal?!?
To preface this, I work as a delivery driver and we make money based on tips and mileage. We make .53$ for every mile driven and we get cash tips, and credit card tips that are given to us in cash at the end of the day. today my boss came up to me and said “we aren’t handing out your mileage and tips in cash anymore, you will get a prepaid Visa card with your money on it the next day” then he handed me the card and walked off. I want my money in my hand not on some card where there’s no promise their servers won’t crash and fuck me over. Fuck online money cash is everyone’s favorite.
Giving Notice and PTO
Planning to give notice. I also have 2 weeks of Pto. Anyone have some good verbiage for saying “here’s my notice. I will be taking these last 2 weeks as Pto in the meantime.”
I'm in a Union at my work and we just went through negotiations for a new CBA. Before bargaining even began, everyone seemed hyped up to try and get the best deal we possibly could. After months of waiting with bated breath, we got the deal. It was terrible and low, considering inflation. I don't want to give too much information, as I don't want to be identified, but just know it was less than 8% over the course of the next 5 year deal. I thought everyone would reject it, but nope. It was accepted and I feel completely lost and devastated. Some of my colleagues who aren't in the Union, are making $10,000 more than the Union employees. I feel like we're being held back by the Union and that they aren't really fighting for us. And on top of that, no one wanted to reject the deal…
It depends on your field and many other factors, for sure. But in general, how high of a stress level would you say your job causes you to have? I (24f) work in Project Management and work an average of 50 hour weeks (without taking lunch or breaks), and even on the weekends, I’m just thinking about (or doing) work. I don’t have much of an understanding if it’s totally normal to be this stressed at this age, so just curious what others deal with. Thanks I’m advance.
