I’m interning for a company from 9-5 but our team was doing a company party from 3-5 on Friday. My manager informed me at 3pm (without notice) to clock out if I’m going to the party. The other intern in our team (under a different manager) went to the party and clocked out like they normally do at 5. I feel like this is unfair. I went to the party but if I stayed back I would’ve looked like a shitty team member. Could I report this?

I’ve been a very loyal employee in a grocery chains deli department for the last 4 months. I’ve held things down when we had several people leave all around the same time, I close 6 days straight, I do all that is asked of me without missing days or ever being late. I checked next weeks schedule and see a ridiculously minuscule 21 hours (at $13/hr) that genuinely feels like being slapped in the mouth. After I close the department tonight, I don’t foresee myself coming back here. I’m waiting to get hired on in a healthcare position that may still take a few weeks to finish with my background check but I’m willing to be in the hole than to work for a company that does not appreciate me whatsoever.

I spent last night writing up why I deserved a raise. I took my job description/responsibilities and outlined every single thing I do outside of my own responsibilities. I printed out statistics of inflation over the last year where I live, I printed out the same or similar job offers from other companies that had better pay. I compared myself to others in my position and how little they do. I listed all my achievements within the company and how much I do for it. I had all of this handy in my backpack when I went to my big boss to ask for a raise.
