I work in a law office and part of my job is to process client documents pertaining to their case (scan everything into pdf) and send it to the attorney. Today a client brought in a box of documents and I started processing them. The documents were in bad shape. Many looked water logged. It took about 2 1/2 hours to process everything. About an hour in I started breaking out in hives and my eyes got red and started to swell. I finished processing everything anyway and warned the legal assistant not to handle the documents without gloves and long sleeves. Now I’m itching like crazy and my right eyelid is very swollen. This probably won’t happen again, but if it does, how do I protect myself knowing if I don’t do it someone else in the office will have to. TIA!

Myself and 3 colleagues are stationed at an ‘important client’ in day shift mo-fri. Been like that for years. Client now demands 24/7 support if something happens and behind our backs its apparently already discussed with our manager and union. I never signed up for this neither my other colleagues except the oldest one who thinks its ‘normal’ to provide good service even working 12hr shifts, extra weekends. My wife works in 5 shift and weekends, holidays. We have 3 kids with their hobbies etc… This is impossible. Can my employer just do this ? I’m in Belgium. The unions don’t give a damn, they just sit on their desks 2 days a week on appointment. All that matters apparently is how many hours they can charge.
So I live in Virginia and I’m a part time receptionist at a dog kennel. I’ve been looking through my paychecks recently and noticed that despite my state’s minimum wage going up to $12 on January 1st of this year, I’m still only getting paid $11 an hour. I’m missing about $200 from the paychecks that I’ve gotten this year and while that isn’t a lot it’s still substantial enough that I’m upset about it. I was almost promised in-writing that I would receive a Christmas bonus, but I never did. I’ve gotten 4 paychecks since the year started so I don’t think it’s an issue of the paychecks just not catching up or anything. My brother, who also works here (albeit in a different position) has been getting $12 an hour since the year started, although he also never received a Christmas bonus. While I’m fairly certain that paying…

The amount of work is just endless and neverending. When I call in sick for a few days my boss treats me like a criminal and expects me to work from home anyway. I used up most of my vaccation days and have just 1 week left. And I cannot afford to be unemployed and I am not allowed to reduce my hours. So by this point I pray everyday to be involved in some form of accident that prevents me to go to work. Even a mid level injury that would force me to be a few weeks in the hospital/at home would be welcome. As long as its nothing permanent. Thats how desperate I am. I just cant go on like this.
This made my day

Let's deprecate Human Resources departments.Mint a 🟨 NFT to an employee when they fuck up.Mint a 🟥 NFT to an employee (and burn the 🟨 NFT) when they've already fucked up before. It even emits an EmployeeFired event to let the entire blockchain know when someone is fired. pic.twitter.com/8e5wxhxVpv— Harrison (@PopPunkOnChain) February 25, 2023
So my husband got a call last night from the owner of the company he works for stating that one of the employees called him complaining that my husband was discussing his salary. My husband swears up and down that he wasn’t. He just started this job at the end of December, we moved our family and 2 little infants 3 states away for the position that he took. Things have been going great out here but we came to the conclusion that the place we moved to isn’t for us. My husband requested a transfer back home to a new project they have starting up in the state that we originally moved from so we have been in the process of waiting to start transferring back home which would take 2 months from now. My husband had made a friend at work who we then started hanging out with…
