Work said they will deny our monthly bonus for calling in sick (even if it’s just for an hour, even if it’s the night before). And if it happens more than once every 3 months we’ll get written up. But they let slip that this wouldn’t happen if we had FMLA for a disability or health condition (the example given was migraines). I have a long history of migraines and, while I rarely take time off work, I’d like the option without basically reducing my pay by $3/hour for the month. The only thing is, I have no idea how to do that. Do I contact my doctor or HR first? I’d look for another job but finding legitimate remote data work that doesn’t require customer interaction is really hard to find, so I’ll take advice on that too if you’ve got specifics. Thank you!

shameless, really
First official “come back to office” day. My superior interrupts my convo with a colleague and says that nobody cares about my opinion. I love how the manager said that office working is better because you get to “socialise”.
Kim Kardashian being helpful as usual
Context: I got promoted from part-time to full time (with benefits) because my one coworker quit yesterday. Literally 5 minutes after my coworker quit my boss asked me if I would accept working full time going forward. I kinda panicked and said yes. Problem: I’m taking a huge grad school entrance exam at the end of April and was planning on putting in my 2 weeks at the beginning of April so I could have a week off to focus on the exam. I have been planning on leaving for a while. I want to get paid more and work full time after I take my grad school entrance exam. I also lose too much sleep over this job. My boss is so intense, opinionated (in the type of way where she assumes she’s right and doesn’t care for feedback) and inconsistent it can be nauseating. And since I have…
Pretty much what the title says. I have to be available during their hours, they decide what I work on, I have to request time off, etc. I've only just started looking into this stuff. I was just happy to have a job when I got hired but I really don't like the idea of my employer misclassifying me to save money or whatever. I'm pretty sure if they let me go I wouldn't be able to collect unemployment benefits. What should I do?
At last, had my antiwork moment
Okay so I started working at a company in January starting at 15$ a hr and I told them coming in I would be continuing to look for other higher paying jobs when they hired me they said okay. Fast forward to march and I might have found a job, the interview went well and mentioned it to a head manager like trying to be upfront about it and not wanting to just not show up anymore and screw them(which is what I should have done). All I said is the interview went well and I’m just giving you a heads up. Next morning I wake up at 9am and the manager is saying that they are just letting me go saying since I started working there all the workers have complained about my attitude. Basically in two months my attitude has gotten worse. But she heard I might have…
