Boycott these capitalist predators!
Name a time when you had a conflict with a manager or coworker. I don't talk to none if them so I honestly never had a conflict. I've been trying to think of stuff for a week can someone help me lie.
I make 2.13 an hour serving and I don’t even get a paycheck because of taxes, it sucks up my whole paycheck + I owe possibly a couple grand each tax season. Our “tips” are our wage, not actual tips. They make us deep clean their whole restaurant and keep us busy with tedious little tasks and if it weren’t for our tables tipping us then we would be working for close to nothing. Tonight my manager told me they’re adding MORE to our list of cleaning duties like bro where does a boundary get drawn!? Tonight was slow and I had one table that happened to tip me $50 and that’s just lucky. And it’s lot like we’re allowed to play on our phones; if our hands aren’t busy they give us stupid little tasks to do. I hate it so much ugh
I know it sounds weird. But I think your work shouldn't try to force you come to work on your birthday. Either give you the day off or pay you holiday pay (time in a half).
My specific inquiry is about how to protect myself against retaliation from a manager who keeps changing my hours two days before my shift and doesn’t even tell me my hours so I have to head into work every day to check the schedule to make sure I’m not suddenly working. I know what people are going to say but just answer the questions provided I’ve got the rest covered by documentation some handy dandy laws that say this shits unlawful. And if they try this shit again then I’ll just not be coming in
Hi all, long time lurker. Consider this a petty gripe with some additional bites of dystopian corporate absurdity. I’m a bottom-tier sales rep with a fancy title for one of the major cellular companies that prides itself on being community and social justice facing. I have one foot out the door and the other foot is one missed paycheck from an empty fridge, so we’re temporarily stuck until I find something else. Recently, corporate made a huge deal internally about how this has been the most lucrative year ever, and gave all sales reps a dollar raise to their base pay before commission and threw everyone 2 free stocks that won’t actually be vested for two years. (In 2025 I’ll be able to buy an air fryer!) In our quarterly all-staff meeting, corporate naturally made a point to tell us how much money-shuffling it took to pull that off. Because,…
Hi all, This is my first post here and I hope it is the right place for me to get a perspective about what happened. I started working for an IT company in January 2023 and from the start it felt like I have been there for a long time, the job was very intuitive for me and my dream job which is why I excelled. From my first day I got a raving review from customer, I also covered for another person (she was on holiday+medical leave) who used to record training videos which I recorded myself just so they are not behind when they need to send videos to clients. The boss was in awe and ecstatic about my performance, so was the team and they were all nice and professional. The boss was amazing and he did trusted his team including me to do the job…
My wife was fired from her job last week. This is a small company, less than 30 employees. There is no paperwork or official termination letter that stated why she was fired. The situation is that her manager was having an affair with her coworker, and my wife was fired for not reporting it to the owner despite knowing about the situation for two months. Employee relationships were not against the rules here yet she was fired without warning just because she knew about it. However, later that day after she was fired, her boss held a team meeting and told the rest of the employees that she was fired for threatening and harassing other employees. That she was a cancer to the workplace. This is categorically false and could cause serious harm to her reputation. The owner just wanted to cover up the affair because it's messy and took…
