I’d be looking for a new job.
HR is trolling
https://www.kornferry.com/insights/this-week-in-leadership/why-act-your-wage-is-scary This actually went out in a newsletter. Seeing this sentiment expressed isn't new, it's been out there for months now, but a bit galling to see it come from HR. “Nearly half of HR employees said their organization has struggled to motivate employees to work beyond the required scope of their jobs during the past six months, according to a survey late last year by the Society for Human Resource Management. And in a recent poll by the software firm Qualtrics, 36% of workers and managers said their career ambitions had waned over the past three years, compared with 22% who said the opposite.” Imagine that, people working to contract. You aren't offering to pay me more than what you agreed to so why are you wanting me to work more than I agreed to? There's plenty of wiggle room if your employer is being nice and offering flex…
Gave my two weeks today, and despite everything I've done to improve and grow the company, they decided to end my employment immediately. Hilariously, three people quit this month with no notice, and I wanted to be more courteous then that, but they did not want to extend the same to me. If you are an hourly employee, consider just quitting. If you are a salaried exempt employee, know that you are obligated a full paycheck even if you only worked a minute in the pay period!
How do y’all make so much money?
I see people on this sub complaining they get paid like $50k and they deserve $60k. And I understand the anger. I do. But what jobs do y’all have that pay that much. Like I make well under that. I live in a large city and I get paid pennies. I’m barely living. Anyone have any advice to making more money without having to go to school or make less than what I’m making now?
I Cried At My Desk… Again
It's a cover for every company to cut staff leading to shitty working conditions and terrible service but they blame the people who “don't want to work” while squeezing their employees for more and letting customers blame the lazy people who aren't working. It's always been a load of shit but this was the endgame: crap work life, crap customer experience, no blame for the owners increasing their own profits.
