My work isn’t unionized, but we are so fed up with our corporate office I’m considering bringing up our property going on strike. All of our housekeepers, front desk staff, even the supervisors. Some context: we have been getting a TON of negative reviews lately because our guest computer isn’t working (the motherboard is fried) and HQ isn’t letting us replace it; BOTH of our ice machines are broken beyond repair and instead of replacing them, HQ told us to just go get ice from the gas station (the guests are super pissed about that because sometimes we run out); our workout equipment is broken and HQ refuses to let us pay to have a tech come out to fix it; we still have water damage from flooding over Christmas (HQ decided to just have the water extracted from the carpet and skip the microbial treatment); one of our two…

Multiple coworkers have asked many times about getting direct deposit to which we’ve heard them say “we are looking into it” or “they are asking for to much money”. Myself as well as other have had a couple checks bounce do to “insufficient funds”. What needs to be done to make sure that we can get our money on time and not worry about checks bouncing?
Feel Like Quitting My Job (Rant)
Hey all. I'm an 18 y/o college freshman. Along with school, I started a menial retail job, do volunteer hours and am a captain of my school's competitive mock trial team (which takes up a majority of my time). I am also an honors student with plans to graduate early with two degrees. As you can probably tell, I'm exhausted. Everyone around me seems to downplay how much stuff I actually do. My family life is pretty conflicted and home (I live with parents and commute to save money) is often somewhere I don't want to be. I haven't gotten a chance to write, draw, play games, or just have alone time in a while. When I mentioned this to my boss he offered to shorten my hours, which was kind, but at this point I am doing so horrible mentally that I'm considering just quitting. I told my mom…
New Policy: Reimbursement
My husband’s job gives employees company credit cards for expenses especially while on a work trip. There is a new boss and he found out a few employees lost their credit card privileges because they used it for unapproved purchases. Now they are planning to take away everyone’s cards and employees will have to submit for reimbursement. These are expenses for hardware, parts, hotels, meals etc. If he is on a trip it has the potential to be $100s. To me, it feels like the employee is loaning money to the employer who pays it back without interest. Are there any options here? Besides getting a new job because he does very niche work and we would have to relocate.
It’s actually PMED not P-MED. This is one of the most disgusting things I have ever heard about how companies stop unionizing. It is called PMED. They don’t want people knowing about this conference, which is exactly why I am revealing it to the masses now. Fuck them. I was talking with my father the other day about unions, and he told me a story about a conference he went to in Buffalo NY called PMED for his old company. The first rule of PMED is don’t talk about what happens in PMED. I am not joking. They actually say that. Here is how he explained it. He is a manager at his company, and managers from tons of companies like Honda and Canadian Tire for example all sit down in a ballroom and listen to some suit talk about manager shit for a bit. Then out of nowhere, someone…
