We want so little and yet we are being told no. All I ever wanted was my own home. Ideally a house with a garden like my parents but I could settle for an apartment. Because of a few years of remote work I was finally able to buy my own home. Nothing special but my OWN. And now the assholes are forcing us back to shitty office buildings which are always located in crazy expensive areas. Now I have the choice of killing myself with 1 hour commute each way (2 hours per day if there are no issues plus getting ready and preparing for work = a minimum of 3 hours added to each work day). Or I could move closer to the office and pay the majority of my pay check to some greedy asshole landlord while also becoming a landlord myself by renting out my own…
I have two part-time jobs: Job A (mornings) and Job B (afternoons). The bosses from both companies are acquaintances. Both are minimum wage jobs, at Mom n Pop style companies. No HR department. Boss A seems to work 24/7. I get emails from him most weekends and evenings. I’ve tried to set a clear boundary that I won’t respond to emails or texts outside of my morning shifts, but sometimes I cave if it is something I can help with in five minutes. Earlier this week, Boss A emailed Boss B during my Job B afternoon shift, complaining I wasn’t answering his emails and asking Boss B if I was around (he’s aware of my exact work hours and availability). Boss B said I was there and asked if he should pass on a message. Boss A replied, “No, it just seems like she’s never around. She must be very…
More anti-WFH propaganda
These people really hate workers in control. At one she star3s that companies are having a difficult time determining what's going fir them and their workers. Because clearly workers are to infantile to know what's best for themselves. Clearly there's a place fir total WFH, hybrid work, and always at the office (WFO?). But workers need a say in these decisions. Otherwise by making unilateral decisions companies are exerting their ownership of workers. https://fortune.com/2023/02/28/hybrid-work-pros-cons-lynda-gratton/
Also, he told me “in this company we believe that Jesus Christ is our lord and savior”. It was not for a job that has anything to do with religion at all. Is this legal?
Is it me, or is it them be honest
I can’t quit right now. I think everyone is going to say that so please give other advice. I’m trying find out what to do for myself or with them. I have been working at a job for the last 3 years that has made me into a crazy person. I always was crazy but I’ve been pushed over the edge, and in a way was good for me. I’m way too trusting, and nice for these people. I can’t say too much because it’s so bad and specific that is someone saw this they’d know it was me and it would cause me even more bullshit. I have been sexually harassed to a degree that is unthinkable. I really wish I could say how. I’ve been humiliated, made fun of, lied on, and other stuff. I can’t leave now for a specific reason but also because so many people…
With politicians and corporations either ignoring the real needs of the vulnerable and critical like laborers, teachers, nurses, etc. or flat out attacking their rights and taking more and more from them to feed their greed, I predict next 10-20 years of misery for younger generations to come, at minimum. At least we got all this entertainment and consumerism to distract ourselves with, we’ll need it since we have no way of living a real life outside our wage cage. All ideas to fix things are shut down since the people hurting are too distracted and reliant on their paychecks to rise up (which is by design) or new proposals are called “socialist” or “entitled” while the rich are the real ones being taken care of by the government or getting special treatment. Any ideas at all my fellow modern servants who will soon be thrown out like trash due…
