Personally I do not anymore, especially for younger people. Lots of people who are 60+ stand by them but that was an entirely different economy and society than ours. It really feels like another billionaire's idea that doesn't really work in the long term. Infact, the person who came up with the idea of 401ks later regretted it and stopped putting into a 401k. I think that says a lot. I'm in my 30s, I won't be able to take out a 401k until late 2050s. Who knows what the economy will be like then or if modern society will even be remotely the same as it is today. You're basically throwing money into a huge gamble. Title says it all. Got covid back in December, went to get a doctors note to show to my job for whatever reasons they needed it and today I got a letter in the mail for a $800 hospital bill that I can’t afford… all for a piece of paper that my boss probably didn’t even read. My mind went “this cant be legal” but of course this is America and America makes no sense

When I worked at Chick-fil-A in highschool made $7.50/hour. Here are a few of the things I experienced while working there: While taking outdoor orders in the summer (in SC) I started seeing black spots and threw up do to the heat and not getting relief. They allowed me to sit and the cooler after that. In the winter we were only allowed to wear Chick-fil-A coats while taking orders outside. They were thin. If we wanted a thicker coat we had to purchase one. One day numerous times I asked for relief taking orders outside so I could use the restroom and after 30+ minutes finally went inside and pissed myself once I reached the bathroom.
