I own a small business. It doesn’t make a crazy amount, but it makes enough for an employee. I hired him about a month ago and he is seriously the hardest worker I’ve met. This dude grinds hard, which I really appreciate. I’ve always had the dream of building a company where people don’t DREAD work. Even though I can’t afford to give him a 4 day work week yet, I want to create that environment one day. Today he opened up about his sick parents and how much of his money goes directly to them. I told him that he can take take 2 extra days off (would still get paid for those days) which would mean 2 4 day work weeks this month to spend time with his family or just get some extra rest. My boss has been lying to me
I work as a preschool chef on a government campus. I have had trouble with my dishwashers since I started there over a year and a half ago. They leak chemicals, and constantly shut themselves off. The repair man who originally came to look at them told me we just needed to replace the dishwashers, as they are older than I am (30) and are on their way out. He got them running just good enough to suffice but stressed replacing them. My boss then told me that the floors needed to be replaced before I could get new dishwashers, which requires government approval, since they own the building. Well the federal doesn’t move quickly on anything, even when it involves following their own food safety regulations. So I don't know if anyone has noticed that circle k is buying any and all gas stations, at least where I live, and I've been in a few and they were unbearably hot! Like drinks in the fridge are getting warm hot. At first I thought it was just the one near my home that I used to go to all the time back when it was a Chevron but after going into a few others, I was actually just in one a few moments ago, and I made a comment about all the stores being way to hot and the associate told me it was because corporate sets all thermostats to 80 plus degrees to “save money” while their chocolate products are melting and their drinks are going warm.
