Obligatory “this is my first post” & “I'm using mobile” disclaimer. So I just turned 18 &, due to mental & physical health issues, I'm a high school dropout. I've been wanting to earn some money so I can save up & move out, but we all know how miserable it is being capitalism's bitch. When some lady on the next street over posted that she was looking for someone to stop by & let her dog out every week for the forseeable future, I was pretty stoked at the idea of some reliable, if pitiful, income. I don’t want to be too specific for privacy reasons but today the higher up/big wig/final boss decided to make suggestions on things I can do in my job ….. things I already FRICKIN do! And things other people do. Things that are actually in their job description. He doesn’t know enough to know what I actually do but thinks he knows enough to suggest what tasks I should be doing. I legit saw red. I’m not a person who gets angry, especially ridiculously angry but I reached that level today. There’s a part of me that wants to say “fine, I quit. Since you seem to know better than me, you can do my job. Have fun”

im a student with a part time job but I worked full time when I was hired here in 2022. i filled out my tax information the w-4 or whatever exactly like i always have for all my past jobs. its really dumb that i never noticed this but im a tipped employee so my pay varies check to check. Tax season rolls around this year and it turns out not a cent of my income from the past year went to federal or state income taxes. I’ve been struggling to make ends meet this whole time like legit going hungry between paychecks. now im learning even with every student, commuter, renter deduction/credit i can apply i owe the federal and state gov a bunch of money that i dont have. my boss could not give me a clear answer about why this happened. does anybody have any advice besides…
