As someone who used to deliver pizza in the late 2000's and early 2010's I thoroughly enjoyed my job. Drove around smoking weed listening to my favorite music all night. Even made decent tips, and had extra food waiting for me back at work. My 18 year old brain couldn't fathom a better gig. Looking at the way things are now I can't imagine walking away with anything monetary wise. Has being a pizza delivery person just been phased out altogether? Like, I still see them on the road, but I was pretty shocked to see Doordash show up when I didn't even use the fucking app. Idk man, I feel bad for the industry workers who have to bear the brunt of this fucked up situation. Haven't given a shit about work in months, used to wake up early and start my job early, sometimes I would do overtime or even on the rare occasion work on the weekends so that I would have a slightly lighter work load on Monday. Now I just don't give a shit anymore and value my sleeping time and personal time so much more. I just do the bare minimum during my contracted hours and steal as much company time as I can.

I have this manager that drives me nuts. If you’ve never worked in a corporate setting, there’s a specific type of executive you run into every so often that is really high up in the company, but very clearly has no idea what he’s talking about. One such executive is one of my direct managers we’ll call Andy. I work as a marketing specialist and Andy is the Creative Director, which means he doesn’t technically need to influence my job and the work I do, but Andy loooooves to look like he’s making big decisions and getting results. So he bosses around everyone that he’s able to. Andy comes up to me one day and says “Hey, you need to do your job like this, instead of like that.” Now, I’m more than happy to take constructive criticism from people who know more than me, but I also happen to…

The whole purpose is to unwind and get a breather from your daily work , but 15 mins its not my even possible to achieve that. By the time you start relaxing it’s time to get back out there . My managers are like hawks on taking a 15, will be radioing you or coming into break room to check on how much longer you have left and often accuse of you of going over . I feel like I’m in prison , I have to ask permission when to take my daily break , when to use the restroom . It’s slowly killing me . What type of jobs out there give longer breaks ?

Got dinged on my annual review for not smiling and being more friendly with the (male) executives. One example given was that I ran into an exec at a store and supposedly I wasn’t friendly enough. That’s some sexist **it. And what does any of that have to do with my work?
