What makes a new supervisor tolerable?
I start a new job this evening and I'm new to the company, but coming on in a 'Lead' position. If you were on the team, what would make this new teammate/authority figure seem a good addition to you? I'm not used to starting from the not-bottom.

Quitting work.
So I'm thinking about quitting my job. Its keeping me in a depressed state and I keep being put in situations that are not healthy for me when my managers are aware that I cannot be doing certain things due to recovering from surgery just because they want to send people home. I don't want to give two weeks notice to a place that doesn't respect me. How would you do it?
First off, I know this is nothing new to you guys. But I just keep getting frustrated when I apply for a job and go to the interview. And get hit with this, “so the position you applied for is part-time…” Then I respond with that the job post on your website said full time. Then the interviewer says “well our company policy is to start every one out at part time, then they have the chance to get full time status after 6 months. And then other interviews I go to tell me the starting pay is way less than what is posted. It just gets the point where I just tell them, “you know what, this job isn't for me” And just walk out of there
I repair technology, I have my own territory, but then the last 2 months they closed another branch and they put an additional 700 machines or so within my territory. I have been backlogged for the last couple months and anytime compensation comes up for this extra work it always boils down to that quote” we have to prove you could handle the increased work before we can pay you more” Since all of this has started a couple months ago I pulled out my Written Letter agreement and I have been doing my bare minimum of what is expected of me and I do not do any extra work now. All of the soft skills that I was able to do when I had just 700 machines are now gone cuz having 1400 machines over a well-defined area is near impossible to keep up track with I have updated…
Because if no, how can there be a control on a person’s health? We don’t know if our sickness, that we may get here and there, will accumulate more than 3 days.
Why is remote work so hard to find?
I’m from the UK and I feel so depressed working and commuting to my office. For a lot of reasons. I’ve only managed to land an apprenticeship after I’ve paid for and completed a DEGREE in uni (lol so pointless) and I’m now looking for remote or atleast hybrid work where it’s not required to go in all the time. I also have a dog which I can’t leave on it’s own all the time because she will get too bored :/. How on earth does one have a dog and work?

I started my job three weeks ago. It took the managers, yes two of them, a week to get my onboarding. Yet still expected me to show up. Which I did because I had a bit more faith in them then I should have. During this week I was told to wait for emails, to redo my offer, background check, ect. Still nothing. So I snooped the internet and found HR's information and emailed. Magically the following work day, also the day when the v.p and marketing manager of the company were visiting, everything appeared in my inbox. Payday happened the following day and I didn't get paid. I understand it was only one day and would probably be on my next check. Which was fine. I was told that day to log into my employee account to verify everything was set up. I asked how to do this and…
I spent just few months in my last job as they screwed me. Pay, form of work agreement and pay didn't match with what I was told at the interview. When I confronted my boss about it he gaslighted me that I was in the wrong and misunderstood everything. Yay… So as soon as I got new job I gave my termination. O don't live in us, so I negotiated with the aforementioned boss shorter notice. But it was all by talk. So, knowing that he is a piece of shit liar, demanded that he confirms it on writing and work chat will be ok. He started saying he doesn't understand and wanna talk with me. I wrote him that there will be no talking, and I want everything in writing. He declined and came to me to talk. Oh my god, I don't remember when was the last time…
