I began working at this particular senior care facility 3 weeks ago and I already want to quit. Everyday that I have worked so far I have had to deal with the lazy staff this facility refuses to fire. Due to the burnout within the healthcare system management will overlook problems pertaining to certain employees because they can’t afford to fire anyone. This creates a cycle of the good employees leaving due to the laziness of the other employees. I worked 4 12hr shifts this past weekend, and it was a nightmare. Friday the CNA who was supposed to be on my hall to help me no call no showed, leaving me over 30 residents to tend to alone. I was only able to complete the bare minimum. This means no showers for anyone, no bed changes (besides the soiled beds), and as much as I hate it I was…
I work for an Outreach team in Philadelphia. We facilitate the transfers of individuals into rehab, detox, shelters, and etc. I love what I do, even though I witness horrific things on the daily. I have a second job on the weekends from 7am to 3pm. My Outreach position wants me during that slot on Saturday. When that happens, I switch times at my other job to 2pm-10pm to fit them in. My Outreach team consist of 4 people including myself because of the turnover rate. My team are my friends and we all collaborate on making the schedule that’s comfortable for all of us. I was fortunate enough to have my team give me weekends off, as they rather be off during the week. Everyone’s happy.. except my boss. She called my co-supervisor threatening to change the schedule if he doesn’t start putting me back on weekends. I don’t…
I was let go today.
I feel so stupid, I actually wanted to grow with a company, succeed with and for a company. I took initiative and helped the new people, who all got fired or quit. I was considered “solid” and a “core part of the team” I called out because I was sick (which is normal and they know) and I got fired through a phone call. It wasn't because of performance on my part but performance on the companies part and they felt the need to reduce costs. I'm still in shock and feel foolish. This shit really changes your outlook on companies man.
I felt really bad for him
A few hours ago, I was talking to guy at Disney+ customer service on their chat service. I wanted to ask him when the remaining nine episodes of the 21st season of Family Guy would be available here in Sweden. From the start, he was polite to the extreme (which I'm used to when it come to Americans and customer service), but it developed into avoiding a conflict, where he repeatedly thanked me for not being mad at him (and sometimes saying he was hoping I wouldn't get mad). He also thanked me for being nice to him. After a while, I asked him if it was out of the ordinary for people to behave in a civil manner. I praised him on his outstanding service (he answered my questions to the best of his ability and the answers were none of his fault, nor was it in his power…
best antiwork story I have
LSS: Masturbater with pregnancy fetish cause whole staff to quit. This is in 1990. I was managing a video store with adult videos. I was pregnant , about 8 months along and a customer came up with a ” lactation ” themed porn. As I checked him out and he started rubbing himself against the front of the counter, gyrating quite noticeably. I stopped the transaction, took his card, ordered him out, froze his account with an explanation. Next weekend I saw him back in the store, I ordered him out, and he told me to call the owner because He had said he could come back. I called the owner, who confirmed he was giving the guy a second chance because he was the son of a good friend and he had ” talked to him”. I went back to the office and let a male employee take care…
