My favorite thing is being sick in healthcare, coming into work, being sent home because I’m sick, but somehow still getting in trouble despite the fact that I can’t control illness and I literally CAME INTO WORK so I wouldn’t get in trouble for calling out. Make it make sense.

Of course now she needs a doctors note. But wait, she doesn’t get insurance where she works! So she runs to an urgent care to get seen and get a note. 187$ for the visit, it was 10 minutes. That’s one expensive doctors note. Don’t forget that she’s out of her sick days because they are accrued and you earn a sick day like every other week. Hard to believe America is actually this bad.

Today I showed up for work, booted up my work laptop and the brightness was on its lowest level. I spent 30 min trying every way to turn up my brightness, so I didn't have to strain my eyes to see what I'm doing. Eventually I called IT they told me I'm not allowed to adjust brightness for “security reasons” How on earth would the brightness of my screen have anything to do with security!?

Hi all, I've been thinking about this for a while and need some advice. I moved from the UK back to Canada in October due to my mom being diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo a lot of treatment and wanted to be there for her. For those who aren't aware Canada is SUPER expensive so I got a job with an old employer which I've been at since November. It's a call centre called Sitel but I'm not on the phones but rather I'm work from home doing email customer service. I'm trained as a financial analyst so I'm no longer used to dealing with customers on a day to day basis so naturally taking this job was a bit of a step back for me but I took what I could get as I wasn't planning on staying here for a super long time. Looking for some advice. I was recently offered a promotion and have been really excited about it. I was excited for a schedule change and more $$. However, when I opened the offer letter, I was only given a raise of $1 AND the rate is less than some of my peers are making. I understand they’ve been here longer than I have, but I thought with a promotion, I would be making more than them? And now idk what to do
