This argument gets twisted around to give an illusion that a company owner has more at stake than an employee. Most employees in this day usually works paycheck to paycheck with little savings even on a meager lifestyle. The most that regular people have is a house with a mortgage and a car with payments. If an employee loses his job, he stands to get evicted or foreclosure on with no immediate funds to get into an apartment without help from the state. Not everyone has a mom to run to. They also might be up for their car being repossessed or living out of their car. If an employee gets fired for losing customers….the worst that happens is the company goes out of business and the owner still has a place to live if he doesn't already own the home. Any lawsuits are covered by insurance mostly if the…
I don’t have a time sheet.
I work at little caesars, well I wont in two weeks but I never had access to my timesheet and could never fix my hours worked if their was a mistake or even see the hours I worked for the day and I couldn't view my schedule via the “WorkDay” app or online I could only see me schedule at work since it was printed out and placed on a board. The paychecks were also wierd since we got paid every 2 weeks and 1 day so 2 weeks passed and we get paid on Monday after Sunday that counted the two weeks lol. The other sketchy thing was that somtimes my paychecks only showed I was getting paid for 1 week of work instead of two 15+15=30 right? Then why was it only 15 hours what was in my paychecks if we got paid every two weeks like I…
I started my job two months ago, and the first six weeks were completely fine. While the work load was a lot and the pay wasn’t great, my supervisor was supportive and work didn’t really go past regular working hours. Since then there’s been a change in leadership, with my top boss suddenly turning into a micromanager while the newly hired leadership is really incompetent. I constantly keep getting messages from the micromanager at any random hour, including midnights, and yelled at for whenever the incompetent one makes mistakes. My coworkers and I are in the same boat and have voiced our concerns and set boundaries but nothing seems to change. This is my first job so I want to stick it out but it’s been increasingly toxic and mentally draining, and sucked what little life I had outside the job. What should I do? Is it too soon to…
Negotiating separation
I am leaving a company and I am negotiating a severance package that includes not paying back accidentally paid wages and a handful of weeks of severance. The CEO I don’t think has ever been spoken to this way especially by a woman. He is losing his ducking marbles. But I am trying to be as professional and an advocate for myself as possible. At one point in a conversation he chuckled at me. But I’m coming back from maternity leave and there’s not much he can do in the ways of firing me so he kind of has to play ball. And he absolutely is livid about it.
