I applied for a job that the hours were 8-4. It was in the ad. The recruiter confirmed it. This would be perfect for me so I can continue my physical therapy and other appointments during the week. Once I found out the hours were 8-5 I tried to make this job work. Unfortunately, I had cancel all my appointments…and have suffered because of it The job was a basic data entry position. Again, that is what the ad and recruiter said. I’m my first day the position changed to Marketing Assistant. These are very different positions. I have no interest in being a marketing assistant or have the skills for that. I was told the culture was great. Nope. One woman lost her mind and started screaming obscenities and flipping out. When work from home became the new normal, I quickly realized that my job was measured entirely by output, nobody was measuring my hours, and studies had proven that fewer working hours improved productivity. So I just started working 2-3 hours less per day. Every day. First I was worried that I'd get caught and possibly disciplined. I felt like I was letting my team down. I was convinced that I was being a scofflaw. Nope. I'm considered a model, hardworking employee, and my pay is up 40%. Nobody has ever taken note of how I'm actually working. 40 hours per week is still the posted expectation, and all of my coworkers regularly exceed 50 hours per week burning themselves out. And I take long walks and complete tasks here and there with my laptop and hotspot. I answer emails at 6am and then go back to sleep till 10.…

Do you think we could be resorting back to a hippie lifestyle movement?? The Jesus Movement inspired Christians to travel, find like minded ppl and live in communes together. Wouldn't it be great if ppl got together and prayed and worship 24/7 and did good to society like New Monastics??

Someone mentioned in here or a similar subreddit about hosting a national strike in the next two months or so. Where we all don’t work for a week. That would be such a great idea and a good statement point. Does anyone know what day or if we are doing this idea? Is this a good idea at all?

What an inspiring scene. I assume that as conditions deteriorate this will be where this sub ends up eventually.
