I was told earlier that my company will no longer employ me (not a firing, not exactly a layoff, not performance-based). I suspect they got what they needed from me (I was hired to unfuck an absolute mess of a PMO), and felt they could keep it aloft themselves without me. The reason I’m turning to this group is that I’m asking for more than the two weeks’ pay in severance that they’re offering. I’m told it’s company policy, but when I was interviewing, I was told, in writing, that there was no policy, and that the company tries to do right by its employees in the event of a termination. I haven’t signed the termination letter, but don’t know what to do from here.

That's what a year of busting my ass in a new role got me. I came into this job with little to no knowledge of the job other than a strong background in related areas. I have spent the last year learning everything I can, and I sacrificed personal time to “get up to speed”. I can hold my own with people that have been here for 20 years. They are making 1.5 times what I am making. I get there is longevity taken into consideration but…$1/hr is what that effort amounted to. Sorry but I won't be here for the long run. I wonder if/what they will say when I take these new skills to a place that will pay me what I am worth? One fucking dollar.
This is what my coworker said when we were out to eat the other day. Long story short, the managers let us be able to make our own decisions on something and older women threw a fit they didn't have it their way despite seniority. On day 1. Every job I've had, I had no faith in a union. Not because management would crush it but because a labor union makes everyone equal and too many people don't want to be equal, they want to be better. They want to suck up to the boss and get special privileges. They want to act better than workers that have been there less long. They want to slack off and dump work on someone else. They want to get you fired over something trivial. And most power mad bosses I had wasn't the owners kid, or someone born into wealth. They're someone…

Thank you for reading this even if you only just did a few sentences. tl;dr We have 2 systems next to each other On the one hand there is big banks and investors ruining the capitalist system into the ground by not spending the people's money wisely, spending the bail out money unwisely and continuing to do so crisis after crisis. The driving influence of this system is that a bail out is met with printing more money that is directly given to the entities who caused the bail out in the first place. This creates a loop of where people lose all their money and banks/investors (the superwealthy) get free money without doing anything but spending it on themselves. A loop that we are nearing the end of. On the other hand is this new data economy where you are giving your advertisement for free to giga companies who…
I fully acknowledge that this is for a smaller portion of the population, but I want to vent. I don't want to return to the workforce; but capitalism, so yah. I have always been a Marijuana enthusiast. This has been my personal choice, I acknowledge I have limited by career path, this is separate to my current issue, still intertwined, but separate. I was raised Christian. As far as Christians go, I'm a bad person. I still try to keep my faith, I keep it to myself, mostly, unless asked for advice or help in person, and it would be pertinent. The one open thing I do to signal is say, “I don't work Sundays.” No matter what, I believe it's God saying, “you need to take time for yourself, even I did.” It's also a convenient day to work in praise and worship while recharging your battery, if that…
