So I have been working at a warehouse the past 8 months night shift and it was great the managers were super chill generally the day shift was awful with hard ass mangers and the night shift was chill as long you met your performance the managers didn’t really care about you going out for a cigarette or having a bit longer on break within reason of course.. Well this new shift manager who is higher than the other team manager has shown up and she is just a real piece of work to deal with she is highly competitive and does her job to the book she’s getting a lot of people into trouble for simple things and it’s generally annoying

Weird set of choices…
We have to get our bags checked because we work in retail which is no big deal to me… BUT I notice that when I clock out for the end of my shift, my boss purposely will go help a customer after you clock out so that you stand there waiting for 20 minutes to get your bags checked. I didn’t completely mind when it was once or twice. Like, I get that customers come first but what if I had a place I needed to be asap. I don’t even think that should matter. But last week I probably waiting a total of an hour to get my bag checked. I wouldn’t have clocked out if I knew that would happen but they make us clock out. Otherwise you have to stay clocked in past your shift and be strategic. You have to wait for business to slow down..…
Compensation for On-Call Time?
There's been some recent scheduling changes at my job to accommodate one of our managers taking medical leave. One of those changes is myself and another technician being put on alternating 2 weeks of after hours on-call in the event of any emergencies on-site. Management has told us we'll get 3 hours minimum if we are called in, but has made no mention of compensation for being on-call. I had agreed initially because it was presented as a temporary situation, but now they're making it sound like they want this to be a permanent rotation. This wasn't in my original contract, and I haven't signed anything. Is this legal? What can I do about it?
