I’ve been with my current employer for a little over 7 months. I’m the CEO’s assistant – I’m making about 180k – I work very hard. The company is almost five years old and the company has gone through six assistants. They range from less than 24 hours, to 1 year, but everyone ends up quitting. Help me quit my job. I've been there for almost 20 years, my first job out of high school when I was 15. I've worked my ass off to be a manager and have somehow ended up being in a sales position as well. I liked my job when it was more technical and I feel like now that I take care of the running of the business, my 2 bosses are basically uninterested in any problems that arise. I have no idea how to stop working. I was brought up to believe that to survive you needed a well paying job. While that is 90% true, I know there is a way around this.

But I'm not my own boss. I wish I could be . I make cool stuff and I have an engineering mindset. But getting a loan to buy equipment is out of the equation. How do people get funding without knowing someone who will give them their startup money ? I feel like I'm wasting my life by working for others.
