Been at my job for 8 months. Not sure if I should ask for raise now or just wait 4 more months to complete a year with the company. OR Should I just wait until they give me a raise without mentioning anything?

Long story short for the last few weeks I’ve been noticing my checks have been short by small amounts. 20 here, 30 there, and then 10 and so on. The company has two managers so I went to the senior one and spoke to her about it and she sincerely apologized and told me they would be included in my next check. The one under her approached me a few days later and said why didn’t I just come to him about it? He looked upset and for some reason it made me feel funny about him. Whats sad is that this same guy goes to the church I attend and got me the job. I told him I just went to the person who I was able to contact first which was the senior manager. Something strikes me odd about this guy, should I be concerned?

I'm so frustrated interviewing with companies or individuals that put zero thought into candidates. So long story short I used to work for this local coffee shop were I live. There were a lot of red flags to begin with, like being asked to not cash checks right away, or if you made more than $100 a check there was a chance it would bounce. I ignored these red flag because I just need the extra income. I ending up quitting a couple weeks because I couldn’t ignore the issues anymore. TL;DR: I applied to a job making it clear I had a lifelong disability, my employer bullied me for months regarding the impact my illness had on my attendance and performance, waited four months before asking for proof, and then fired me for recording a meeting that my supervisor had told me she was understanding of before it even started. I have been in this organization for over 6 years now. I work hard and I care about doing a good job even when other peers have given up. All my reviews have been great and I’m constantly told by managers that they are happy with my performance and bring a lot to the table. But there’s another side to it that is emerging. I’m told by a coworker I trust the managers dislike me for some reason, they block opportunities for me to move up within the company but keep me in this department. They also don’t want me training new hires or pursuing any relevant goals despite saying my experience is critical to helping new people learn. Had a meeting with my boss yesterday. Asked for a raise. Haven’t had one since I started years ago. She said I don’t add enough “value” to the company to warrant a raise… So that feels great. Due to inflation, I am having a hard time affording my basic needs (my rent is half my paycheck), but “inflation doesn’t matter in our business.” Wonder if she’d be interested in learning I have to sublease my apartment and live in my car now.
