Not working but expecting others labour
I recently had a discussion with a friend and need a mirror. Me and my friend both hate working. They're trying to retire early together with their partner and are working towards FIRE (fat FIRE if anyones interested). Both have really well off parents. They do agree that in an ideal world nobody would be obligated to work. I don't like working either and am interested in FIRE but know it won't probably happen anytime soon. Income wise we would probably be in the upper middle class category but don't want to succumb to lifestyle inflation. Because my partner and I are pretty handy we tend to do a lot of work around the house ourselves. We only hire people for specialized things like an electrician. I don't feel comfortable hiring people for something I should learn to do myself. My friend on the other hand doesn't want to do…
Is my boss violating labor laws?
When clocking out at my workplace, the Kronos machine prompts you to indicate whether or not you took your break. The manager insists that unless you ALSO seek out a paper binder to attest that you didn’t get your break, she will not pay you for the time. It seems that this is internationally obstructionist and probably illegal, thoughts?
Do I legally have to disclose all previous jobs to my new employer even if they aren’t relevant to the current role and they were only 1 or 2 week jobs? Is it the law that I have to and if so where does it state this? Please supply links if possible thanks 🙂
