I'm so sure that you – a complete stranger to the situation – could so easily quit a job you're not working while also not being in the shoes of OP – not knowing the financial situation, mental state, resources available… Even if you have the ability to up and quit any job at the drop of a hat, most of us don't. You're encouraging shortsighted, unsafe behavior pushing ideas like that on people who do not have that luxury. If we could “quit on the spot”, posts complaining about work, managers, etc would be moot. We'd just fucking quit and be done with it if it were so easy. “I'd quit on the spot” is not helpful advice. It's not constructive, nor supportive. It's the embodiment of riding your clean horse passed those struggling in the mud. Fuck. Off.

So I started my job three years ago and I guess in all the stress of changing jobs at the time I didn't fully take in the part of the contract that mentions that a mobile phone plan, payment of calls and data and reasonable personal use would be paid for by the business. I remember the HR guy at the time mentioning something about phones and I was just like, yeah cool, and moved on. I just found my contract while looking for something else and happened across that little tidbit and emailed HR and asked when the phone plan will be instigated. I don't actually use a phone much for my work which is why it's never been much of an issue. All phone calls come through Teams, which I have as an app on my personal phone. The contract specifically says “mobile phone” so I don't think…

Need some work guidance!
So, I have been working at a high level advertising firm, we have a team of 4 which should be 6 but they aren’t able to get/hire the top 2 senior roles in the team. This has not affected our work as we manage stuff and have been able to smoothly run things. Now my immediate higher up (GH) who isnt exactly my boss but is asked to run things in the absence of the top 2 people, is not that social and cannot really give feedback to a person in the team who isnt carrying her weight. All new and data related tasks which require speed and dexterity are given to me which I am ok with as I get to learn new things almost every other day. The problem arises when I ask for fairness in work delegation, as always my higher up (GH) suggests that you are…
17 and have a cruddy manager
Hello first off I apologize for my lack of grammar and whatever I’m brain dead when it comes to that stuff. I work at a small family owned restaurant I work 5 days a week usually getting Sunday and Monday off aka the two worst days for a highschooler. I’ve been working here for about 1 year and 3 months and I’d like to ask for atleast an extra day off or to alternate Saturdays with someone but don’t know how to go about it. I’ve seen my manager get pretty upset with people who try and change the days they work and I’m to nervous to start a new job with new people. So if anyone has some sort of advice for this kinda situation please tell me I know it’s very unlikely and I’ll probably just get told to to quit. I’m also thinking of asking for a…
