wow, who knew?
Why do y’all need to be on camera your whole shift? Did your job you get paid to do get done in the time they said it should be? If yes why on God’s green Earth do they care if you step away for 5 minutes to wipe your swamp ass
“First world problems”
Now now i hate this term, but for the lack of a more direct and explicative one i used it. We know what it means: problems that are not “major” in the strict sense, it is not about shelter or food, but the problems of people who have all they need to survive and even live well. Now what's the topic here? What do i want to talk about in this post? Well i'd like to discuss about such problems.. if people can point them out qnd show how in a noncapitalistic society they can be fixed. I aim to create such a society, so i want to collect fixes and problems i haven't thiught about yet. The following two are the ones i propose: first: Ads, advertising, online profiling. Without circulating money there is no need to advertise anything. If people “earned their revenue” theough “wages” and not sales…
Hi any advice on this? I am currently a government contractor contracted to a federal agency. The company I work for contract recently ended. I will still be contracted to this government agency the only difference is who signs my paychecks. I just received the offer letter and part of the offer letter states that when signing I am agreeing to them performing periodic credit or criminal background checks no less than once per calendar year. I have never had an offer letter say some thing like this before and I don’t think I feel comfortable with my employer being able to do credit checks on me whenever they want. Does anyone have any similar stories or advice on what I should do? Ps I hold a public trust clearance as well so I really don’t understand why this is necessary.
I had excellent grades all my life, I took every extra activity since middle school, started working early, long shift, extra hours, studying at night, degree in engineering, extra courses in order to be excellent. Now in my late 20s I understand all of this was not worth. All this effort lead me to nothing of what I expected as a young teen. I'm not satisfied, I don't have an healthy work-life balance, I'm not successful, I'm not even middle class. I'm debt free, many people told me this is a great accomplishment, I have demanded skills, but what more? After all this effort I still have less purchase power of my grandpa that was an unskilled worker who didn't do a single extra shift in his entire life and that didn't even started secondary education. He bought a nice house, started a family, enjoyed his time. He wasn't required…
Just venting about my shitty boss
I’ve been dealing with some mental health/personal/financial/family issues and recently have been calling out of work more often than I technically should be. My manager has gotten upset with me about it before, but every time I’ve called out it’s because I’ve been sick, had car issues, or just generally falling apart mentally. I’m not proud of it. I feel like shit every time I do it because I know I should just be sucking it up and going to work like everyone else. And also I know my boss is going to be nasty about it afterwards. She gets pissed off if I don’t tell her in extreme detail about my personal problems. She put me on “probation” the other day- lasting for 90 days. I have to also leave my phone in her office during work hours because apparently I’m on it too much, as wel. But I’m…
For context, this is mainly due to mental health. In the last 6 months, I’ve had a serious breakdown of my now previous relationship, resulting in me losing my home. Alongside that I’ve had a s*icide attempt, cancer scare, and as someone who suffers from major depressive disorder and anxiety, this has left me in a horrible position. I have missed a fair amount of work, some authorised via doctors note, but some not. It all built up and I definitely avoided speaking to work about my absence mainly for fear of being told what I may be about to. For a period of about a month, I had been working from home. Until my dog chewed my laptop charger, after which I told work I needed a replacement. I’d forgotten that I had a spare charger at work, which they found and now they believe that I never had…
I have a new manager who got promoted into the manager position after returning from her maternity leave and she's requiring that everyone on her team request any holiday off from her before its approved. We are in the US and the next holiday we have is Martin Luther King Jr Day which is a national holiday and both us and our client have it off. I understand to an extent when she said she wants to make sure we have coverage on days that our company has off and our client doesn't but we almost always have had coverage as we have workers in other countries that get different holidays and have always had volunteers to work and get a “free day” in exchange. In fact I've done this many times. However, her stating we have to ask for it off just rubs me the wrong way. I'm not…
