I work retail when I’m off from school. My coworkers are nice, but the retail job is rough. I notice my coworkers buy a lot to make the retail workplace better, such as Apple Watches, expensive water bottles, they pick clothes out to be in our limited dress code, including expensive shoes to make it easier to be on their feet all day, etc etc. Not to mention they get exhausted and get fast food from the mall area on bad days, or buy starbies coffee when they have a hellishly early and long shift. To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with their choice to buy something that helps cope. But I can’t help but realize we wouldn’t need the degree of consumerism we partake in if we didn’t work. I know if I wasn’t in school or working I’d probably make more food than my burned out self currently…

A carpet so badly stained and damaged that I couldn’t tell you the original color. A cat box with poo in it next to a child playing with toys and a cat turd in the child’s hand. So many holes in walls from people getting…
Overload with work (What would you do??)
What do you do if you get bombarded with case works while behind on mandatory training? I have a meeting with my manager this afternoon to discuss. I am not sure how to bring the topic across diligently. In addition, I have already start looking for other positions as a backup. Thanks
My fiancee's salaried job (US) is telling her that if she isn't able to finish with her accounts by the end of the work day some days that she will have to work on them from home and that if she did that more, if she needs to leave early in the future for some reason but didn't have PTO they would just let her go. Is this acceptable?
