welp quit a crazy toxic workplace
I quit a job Monday.sent message to boss then blocked them. It wasn't bad when I started but it got progressively worse. I can tell why employees there don't give a shit. Some needed more sense tho. They hung up signs that said be quiet. No headphones aloud. Packaging and inspecting product. Then told if we had our phones out we would be sent home. Then last straw for me was having to sign a potty chart the time we went to bathroom and returned. Also staticky ass radio. Boss was typical fake sickly nice demeanor narcissist. Lead was in love with boss. Boss comes and talks about leaving his home overlooking the golf course and seeing deer. Talks about his home renovations around workers. Talks about getting a brand new vehicle. Mind u this. Small warehouse, but most employees I worked with were temps thru agency placed there. No…
In a recent post of mine I stated I was quiting due to my employer violated HIPPA laws and quite frankly just pissed me off all around. My mother easily found out and got upset because I didn't turn in or work out a two weeks. I've come across a few posts in the past half hour of people saying they didn't get themselves a two weeks notice of being fired so as the title says who here ever got themselves a two weeks notice of being terminated?
Boss lives in different timeframe
So one evening while I'm working boss comes to complain about the state of our workplace (granted it was messy for a while since our priority was actually meeting deadlines) and how we don't clean it. I was in a bad mood for whole day due to combination of bad weather, heavy workload and other minor annoyances. So I say to him that we can't even operate all the machines in time let alone waste time cleaning it all. And he replies that it take 10 seconds to clean it. 10 seconds. Something snapped and I start counting seconds out loud. By the 10 second mark he didn't even get to broom. So when he finally starts cleaning I do a countdown again. 30 seconds+ just for sweeping. And there is wiping machines, sorting materials, sorting tools etc. So yeah. Edit: Typo
I hope this isnt the wrong place to post, but this has always annoyed me. If the managers are supposed to be in charge of scheduling, why do they make it up to the employee to find someone to take their shift or else they won't be allowed to miss? The employee doesn't know the availability of other employee schedules and is only able to ask the few employees they happen to be working with that day they ask. It makes no sense. Am I missing something?
“makes payroll complicated”
My current job is denying me $600 worth of work because it's too complicated for me to have 5 days out of 14 on their payroll. I'm the sole provider of my household and this is half of my rent. I'm fucking screwed.
Work rang at 7:00pm last night while my family and I watched a movie. We have a no phones policy when watching a movie so I left my phone in the bedroom. 30mins into the movie I use the toilet in my bedroom and hear a ding on my phone. In a 10min period I had been called 8 times followed by a text that told me not to bother coming in tomorrow. I have worked for this company for 19 years. The pay is shit and I have done every single after hours job they have asked me to do (no overtime either) but because I don't answer them within 10mins im told to have a day off against my will. Wonder if they know I won't be coming Monday either. What a joke.
Update as promised
UPDATE as promised Manager had her lil meeting this morning and heres the highlights: Announced those who haven't been provided uniform pants (only me, literally) MUST purchase black dockers to wear. Effective IMMEDIATELY- Anyone not wearing APPROVED pants will be wrote up and/or fired (umm…what?) All prior agreements extending the 7:30 start time to 8:00, (which were given to those with children whose daycare start times conflict with the 7:30 work start time) are IMMEDIATELY VOID **told those who tried to object that “It ain't my problem” After meeting Daughter in law (who they equally hate cause she's pregnant and considered as my own kid) asked to be put on lifting restrictions (not over 50lbs, same as i had) and was told “I don't think so”, then tried to put her on an assignment that has the most and heaviest lifting activity. She reiterated that it was not safe at…
