Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time posting. I'll try to make this as detailed and short as possible, because I really need a second opinion… A few months ago, my team's manager quit because he was offered more money somewhere else, he left on good terms, and he told me he recommended me to take his place. Honestly? I don't see myself in a management position, and I'm not even interested in one. I'm only interested in getting a bigger paycheck. In the meantime, one of the european guys is filling the role of manager for my team, a really nice, undestanding, and funny person. But he REALLY wants someone local to take the role as soon as possible, to avoid going to bed at 1am every day because he shifted his schedule to match ours for half our shift. He talked to me about becoming manager, and I…
No lie. Having a bad time at your job? Start applying everywhere just for the hell of it. Once you start receiving phone calls, interviews, and (Best of yet) job offers, you'll constantly have your foot out the door. Give it a try. Apply for at least one job everyday and take it all the way to the job offer. Ask for some brief time to consider any offers. Next time your manager pulls some pedantic bs, it's bye-bye
Money Vs. freetime.
Fucked up at work today just wanna vent
So I work at a pharmacy. It is pretty important that I’m polite and understanding towards patients. So today a patient came in to pick up their relative’s prescription. I was struggling to find it and the lady didn’t really know what they were expecting so she put me on the phone to the person she was collecting the medication for . Now this is where I fucked up. I turned my back from the counter and went to walk into the pharmacy so I could look at the patients medication history whilst speaking to them on the phone . As I walked in there was a tote on the floor , it wasn’t there before so I guess I didn’t notice it this time. The pharmacy i work at is extremely small we really need a 2nd floor as we are always bumping into each other and there’s never…

not allowed to be sick???
I currently work as a nurse in the icu, we are overwhelmingly understaffed because the company doesn't value paying staff adequate wages and treating them like humans. The bulk of the staff have left to go to other hospitals that are paying more. I also have a PRN job at “the competition”. Today I get called in by the assistant manager to discuss my attendance. I was given a verbal “coaching” because in 12 months I have called out 4 times and used sick time. I have been working 5-6 days for months because they have no staff and I have been asked to help and pick up. I have tried to go part time or prn here since November and keep getting denied because “a position isn't available”. But I can go to nights prn now. I'm done with admin. How are you going to write me up when…
