I work for a big hotel, was hired as a banquet server 2 months ago. When they hired me, they gave plenty of hours and got big checks and now it slowed down. Barely any events. Last week I had like 14 hours, this week 6 hours and next week 0 hours. The coworkers who get some hours have been there for 10+ years so I guess they trust them more. Also they hired a new manager who tries to act that his way is always the best. Told on me about not holding a napkin well to polish a glass, when there are several ways to hold it. Yeah so what to do? Any grounds for unemployment?

I just don't fucking get it. It's obvious that taking that away from us will make our jobs harder. I wear these sketchers' memory foam shoes. They're black, they blend in with my shoes and pants. They're the only shoe that has helped support my body, as I have scoliosis, an odd gait, and knee injuries. I'm not gonna buy a pair of fancy orthopedic shoes (because orthopedic shoes look so casual by default so I have to go fancy) for a third of my paycheck. I don't get it. I just don't. Do upper managers have any sense of fucking reality??? No. Because they sit at their desks half the day and don't realize that us on the floor are what keeps this business going. But we're disposable. Replaceable. I'm sick of this shit
Supposedly there’s an ongoing law suit against the company of 45 million. Anyone know anything about this?
Fuck Zumiez
Ok so I recently got hired as a second assistant manager at my local Zumiez and they said they liked me and I had a great attitude for the job. So when I first got my schedule I only had two days for work keep in mind I'm living on my own now and my money is a little tight I need all the shifts I can get and then I come in on my first day. Everything is ok so far, my trainer was absolutely cracked at retail the guy could basically run the store by himself but that's the thing he did I didn't get much training I followed him around taking notes on his approach and how to move the conversation and I tried but every time the customers would ignore me or be very flat in responses. I didn't want to intrude on their shopping how…
