Is it ethical to work for your therapist? I'm working remotely with a therapist based in the UK. The therapist paid me five months in advance because I had financial problems, but based on the contract and agreement, I was supposed to work “as a social media marketer” and have a free therapy session once a week however, I felt that might be a conflict of interest, there were no specific working hours, and I worked additional tasks I couldn't do. After a few months, when I asked for a day off, they rejected, and told me “they had helped me before, and work was work”. I felt guilty, but I couldn't compete with them that way; now, this therapist terminated my services and wants me to pay back the rest of the money they paid me in advance a few months ago. However, I cannot afford it now, and…
didn’t even last 24 hours
So I started working security for a local security company yesterday and already getting ready to quit. The amount of information they held back, the fact that they didn't tell me, still technically haven't the only reason I know is cuz the person who's training me has told me, that while I'm training I'm paid minimum wage and training could last for a while month has pissed me off. And they're trying to figure out how to give me two off days cuz there are not enough guards to cover the station I'm working. I'm sitting here filling out applications after I'm done with this post. This entire experience…
Yet another reason we need a UBI
Summary dismissal- Gross Misconduct
Hi, Two weeks ago, I was dismissed from my post in a UK call centre (remote) for Gross Misconduct. This is because I didn’t leave a note on a customer’s account after advising her of an overdue amount. The call dropped after this. She later phoned in to complain about it and I got the sack as a result. I’ve appealed the decision but they have upheld it due to my contract terms. I’m over it because the place is simply awful and I’m happy to be rid of it. Question is, should I expect this to have a detrimental impact on my career prospects? Will it come up on screenings?
