So, I made a comment to my boss about how we aren't allowed bathroom breaks anymore (full post on this here )
This comment lead to an entire speech about how back in his day, he worked 12 hour shifts and didn't get a bathroom break. Even mentioned that they didn't have water on shift, or that they reserved all restroom time for their lunch shifts.
He then tried to argue with me that the girls were going to the bathroom constantly. I continued to tell him that I hadn't been working on that side of the store. He proceedeed. So I let the conversation go. Seriously, I wasn't on that side of the store. I can't speak for their restroom times. But he spiraled into how they worked twelve hour shifts, got a half hour lunch and & 3 fifteen minute breaks, that they went into work with no water, didn't complain about anything etc.
And I just want to say….FUCK back in your day, asshole. Back in your day 30 years ago when workers had no rights, but even then, your 30 hours a week full time job made it affordable for you to live? Asshole, you have a fucking tv in front of your bathtub and I can't afford a 1bedroom at $17hr. I don't want to hear about back in your fucking day.
Anyone else with experience of bosses who try to pull this shit?
