Bait and switched thrice!

I’m not even mad, I think it’s hilarious at this point. Interviewed for a sales position with a recruiter. He tells me: “We’re looking for a closer. The beauty of this company is that your only duties are to close the appointments you’re sent on. Ops teams find leads, vet those leads, and set appointments for you. They also handle everything post sale. You JUST have to close.” Fine. Sounds interesting, usually I do everything from prospecting to being a point of contact after the sale as well. Fast forward to the second interview with some sort of a director. “So your first two weeks are in office training, and then you have two weeks of going door to door just to learn how the entry level guys do the job. Also you’d be running one appointment every Saturday, but after six months in the role, you can opt out…

“So your first two weeks are in office training, and then you have two weeks of going door to door just to learn how the entry level guys do the job. Also you’d be running one appointment every Saturday, but after six months in the role, you can opt out of Saturday appointments, but best sales are typically made on those days.”

I’m thrown off by this, but agree to the third interview anyway. Lmao.

Third interview:

“So after your first two weeks of training, you’re gonna do about 8 weeks of door to door…”

I tuned out at this point, and then shortly after tuning back in I asked about opting out on Saturdays.

“I’m not sure why they said that, you may have interviewed with someone new, you’ll always get Saturday appointments, but after six months you can get one week day off per week.”

Anyways, they extended the offer, I intend to negotiate it for as long as I can to just say no at the end, maybe waste a bit of their time.
