Being called out in front of everyone for being a second late

I admit that my track record with being late isn’t great. So I made huge improvements and I was clocking in 20 mins to often half an hour early some days. Yesterday morning I was early and had clocked in and had a cup of tea with everyone in the canteen. My colleague & I left the canteen and he zoomed ahead and I quickly put my bag and lunch box in my locker. I literally was a few steps away from the daily meeting but the manager had already started. ‘Good morning everyone’ he bellowed.

I thought shit and hurried my pace up but I couldn’t help but smile.. when I’m nervous I react in the worst way possible and either smile or laugh. I hate it. Right from when I was a child my dad would always tell me off for crying. I was never allowed to show correct emotions. So now I always react in the worst ways possible when in my head it really is quite the opposite.

‘It’s not funny Jenny, we’re all here waiting for you. Blah blah blah’

It’s the next day now and I’m still so annoyed. Is it normal to be this annoyed by it? I just felt like him calling me out like that was so unnecessary.
