Posted previously here about my terrible old job, but I got some hate for being a “manager” and not a worker.
Started as a contract worker, only full time worker with one part time helper. Grew the business quickly and had hired 8 more people on payroll under me in less than a year. Kept fighting for higher wages for the workers I hired. Kept getting screwed over by the board, so I rage quit and then gave up my last three months pay ($14k) to give as a Christmas bonus to the staff I hired.
Board begged me to stay because they were incompetent, so I stayed on the condition of higher pay for myself, 20% increase for all staff, and they would match my $14k bonus to effectively double it for staff. They agreed.
They never paid out the second Christmas bonus, and also never paid me my $14k invoice. Claimed a lot of red tape and bureaucratic excuses. Ended up rage quitting again the next year and am currently suing for my unpaid invoice.
